Join us for a spectacular evening of literary conversation! CBC Broadcaster, Shelagh Rogers, will interview award-winning author, Lorna Crozier. Lorna will be delighting us with a reading from her latest book, Through the Garden: A Love Story (With Cats).  Lorna will also be discussing her inspiration for the book as well as her process for memoir writing.

Black British Columbian History in Three Literary Forms: A Poem, an Essay, a Graphic Novel, with Wayde Compton

Join us as we hear author Wayde Compton discuss Black British Columbian history through the different literary forms of his published works- poetry, non-fiction essay, and the graphic novel. Compton will read from all three, and discuss how the different approaches to the topic inform, or are informed by, the literary forms they take.

Writing for Young Adults with Eileen Cook and Jackie Bateman

In this workshop, two award winning multi-published authors will discuss what makes a novel YA (young adult). They will break down authentic characters, storytelling, and world-building for everything from contemporary stories to dystopian. Bring your questions, be ready to hear about this exciting market, and take home prompts and new ideas to get you writing.
